Not only my favorite winter staple but my all-time favorite wardrobe staple period.
I own a few pairs of knee high/over the knee boots but my heart belongs to their little sister and her ankle sized greatness, nothing looks classier and more clean cut than a good pair of ankle boots, they go with denim, leather pants and dresses, they’re an all-rounder.
I tend to stick with black as they just go with everything and it doesn’t matter how much you paid for a pair, they exude luxury.
My Chanel beauties I’m wearing here are as you can imagine are my most treasured (and I don’t tend to play favorites with my bags and shoes). Chanel shoes are my guilty pleasure and I’d been on the hunt for a pair of their boots for months. I started my search in Spring giving me plenty of time to fine the right pair by Autumn, (which is something I often do with AW essentials), failing to prepare is preparing to feel right?
The heel height isn’t too high for running around in the city all day (it takes a mighty heel to stop me wearing them all day long) and high enough to feel dressed up and glam for dinner and drinks.
Hardware always adds sophistication, and the gold classic Chanel chain detailing is subtle enough to not deter from the simplicity of the boots.
The double C’s are hidden nicely within the patent toe, something which sold me as I didn’t want a pair which ‘screamed’ Chanel.
A flat pair are a great alternative to sneakers, ensuring your casual ensembles looks more put together. I actually only own one pair of flat ankle boots as I’m a lover of all things heeled but after finally purchasing a pair of suede flat Chelsea boots last month I genuinely can’t comprehend how I styled by AW wardrobe without them.
