There is no quasi-scientific way of judging if someone is beautiful of not. As I was taught by my parents, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It is subjective.
Here are the five things that make me feel my most beautiful.
We’re conditioned to believe that being independent is one of the greatest feats in life. I’m here to dispute otherwise (hello the lawyer in me).
I’ve been super independent for as long as I can remember. I’ve never asked my parents for help/money, always done everything by myself. Now this isn’t because I had to, far from it in fact, (they’d jump at the chance to help me in any way/shape or form). Simply put, from a young age, I decided I wanted to get myself far in life. I bought my first car myself, my first designer shoes aged 16, and my first Chanel bag aged 21… you get the gist. If I wanted something, I got it for myself.
I never let myself be part of a ‘team’, as such. I wanted to be a single player in the game we call life. It was just in my DNA, I was programmed to think that way.
I have now learnt to ask for help if I need it, to be vulnerable and to some extent, rely on those closet to me.
My partner and I are a super strong team, we lean on each other in every aspect of life. I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. I feel the best version of myself when I’m being less independent, that’s for sure.
I feel my happiest when I’m working out 4-5 times a week. My body desperately needs muscle mass, and my mind thrives off my gym sessions.
My workout sessions make me feel physically and mentally strong. On a more vain note- I’ve always taken pride in my body, so keeping myself in tip top shape pleases me, and there's no shame in that.
Laughter always has, and always will be, the key to my heart.
I truly believe I’m the luckiest person in the world, being able to spend every single day and night with my best friend and soul mate. All we do is laugh. This is when I’m my happiest… thus as some would argue, my most beautiful.
I only wear makeup for date nights, hence I like my skin to be in the best condition possible.
Even if I’m having a bad skin day, I’m confident enough to not wear makeup and just go with it. However, when my skin is hydrated, glowing and plump, I’m my happiest.
Copious amounts of masks, serums, oils and water help me achieve this. Alongside good sleep, an incredible diet and exercise.
This is ingrained in me.
I just love to help other people (or animals of course).
I’m happiest when I’m making my partner lunch/dinner/ coffee’s. When I’m helping his kids learn and grow, cooking for them and teaching them life lesson’s.
Helping my brother grow into the amazing man he now is.
I love helping people who email me with fashion queries, or need help with styling. When followers want help with their beauty regime, or simply want some NYC restaurant suggestions.
I’m a natural born care giver, I’m very maternal. Maybe this is where it stems from. Either way, I feel my most beautiful when I’m helping other people.
