Yes. It's real ... but it's a full time job! Olaplex
My hair wouldn’t be half as healthy as it is right now if it wasn’t for the magic potion that is Olaplex.
Bleach on your hair is damaging, period. Even more so if you have thin hair or if you’re planning on having several rounds of highlights.
Olaplex is a three-step system done in salons that shortens the bleaching time and limits any damage. For the first time, it ensures that your hair can go from dark to light a lot quicker and without breaking off.
“Olaplex claims to reconnect broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair. The treatment is labelled a 'bond multiplier', which limits damageto hair during or after colouring.”
You can buy the number three and use it at home as a weekly treatment. I prefer to use it on dry hair for a couple of hours’ minimum (overnight if possible) before rinsing, followed by my usual shampoo/mask. In the two weeks before and after my hair color appointments, I use the treatment twice a week. My hair is super thick and very healthy (so says my stylist) so it can withstand a lot of heat, bleach and damage. There is no way I could have gone from dark brown to ‘dark blonde’ without the planning and preparation I undertook using Olaplex.
There's a misconception that bleaching your hair will damage it indefinitely.
That's just not true.
Bleaching your hair without a plan and preparation is where most people fail. Sooner or later, the damage will catch up with you when your hair starts breaking off. However, if you look after your hair correctly, investing money and time, then anyone can have the color change they dream of.
Even if you don’t use bleach, any hair dye is damaging. I reccomend using Olaplex once/twice a month as a nice boost.
